She hides in the shadows of the woods,in the areas where you turn your head to noises.. only you won't ever see her. She is a lurker. At most, an outline you see in the distance, moving ever so slightly, is what you'll spot of her. She doesn't speak. She doesn't sleep. And if you dare to follow the noises of the woods into the darkest parts, you might just find her staring back at you. |
Esther Esther was, indeed, one of those book-wormy slim girls who wore big loose sweaters and had short inky black hair. She didn't get much sun either, and she had a keen attraction to striped clothing. Her fingers were dry from the turning of many pages, and eyes almost always dead when she looked at anything other than a book. You wouldn't run into Esther, or even say hi to her passing, not unless you were on your way to the library and had an urge to check out the darkest dustiest end of the building with that light that was always flickering.
